Independent creative studio

An idea taken all the way: the name, the brand, the interface and the app itself, designed, engineered and shipped to the App Store.

For anyone sitting on a product idea: one studio can carry it from nothing to a live, paying app with the brand, design and code handled without handoffs.

The current DhikrLock app experience presented across three devices with its app icon.

The brief

Screen-time apps punish people for picking up the phone, and the shame never made anyone put it down. The idea: block the distracting apps behind a moment of dhikr instead. Remembrance comes before the scroll, so the interruption gives something rather than just taking the app away.

What we did

Everything from scratch. The name and the mark use an Arabic dhal with a keyhole drawn into it, bringing dhikr and lock into one glyph. The identity, the type, and the whole product: interface design, the app itself, and a native module built directly on Apple's Screen Time framework so the lock is enforced by the operating system, not by willpower. A tasbih counter, guided morning and evening adhkar tied to local prayer times, and a subscription business on top.

Identity

Remembrance, before distraction.

The identity joins the Arabic letter dhal with a keyhole. A familiar spiritual form becomes the mechanism at the centre of the product.

The redesigned DhikrLock orbital dhal and keyhole mark.

Before you scroll, dhikr.

A pause that gives something back.

Version 1.4 rebuilds the experience around four clear spaces: Home, Dhikr, Protection and Journal. The interface is quieter, sharper and unmistakably native to iOS.
